Tuscany, Maremma above all, represents My Soul Nest: the cradle where I used and use to shield, now and then, taking a breath from the stressing paces of my life.

Here I meet and live my passions: enchanting atmospheres, my lovely horses, a “sweet” wild untouched nature and surrounding, the History end the Arts and again ...long swimming in crystal clear waters in the most beautiful creeks and coves of the Mediterranean Sea, the Italian sun and my book under an orange tree.

Hospitality

I arrived at Montemassi 30 years ago, riding a motorcycle, a little bit like Guidoriccio da Fogliano in the famous 13th c. painting by Simone Martini, and could not stop coming and coming over again, as often as I could.

I was fascinated by the Medieval atmosphere, the mild climate, by the number of different things to do and adventures to live one can enjoy in such a magic place.

We just fell in love with the charming ruin. Just in the heart of the village, these stone three-storey building dates back to the same age of the Castle. Each storey has got its independent entrance, at any level a small terraced garden.

The restoration was a real challenge, took ages and immense efforts, but it revealed to be worth it. The house came to a new life, we cleaned and found out all the original materials, stone, bricks, beams, old manufacts…equipped it with modern plants and comforts.

Finally I decorated it mixing up contemporary design and antiques in medieval atmosphere downstairs and “fin de siècle” in the upper apartment: my way! Renting part of my property is a way to share my sensations, a way to let people, who love unique experiences away from mass tourism and routine, explore this very special world.

Montemassi, the Medieval hamlet painted in the famous fresco of 1330 by Simone Martini, entitled “Guidoriccio da Fogliano conquering Montemassi” and preserved in the town hall of Siena.
