Maria’s Tower

In honor of a gentle Lady

Who lived here many years ago. Although of humble origins, in this small village she loved books and poetry and the Arts.
She was a refined embroiderer and luckily I found some pieces I “boxed” on the walls,  as some old pictures.
Thinking of her style, I restored the house in a very different way compared to the one I chose for the other 2 units below, so medieval and designed at the same time.
Here the atmosphere is Soft, contemporary but mantatining a certain “old times” allure.
An ancient stone staircase takes you to the entrance of this charming home, 95sq meters, fully restored and decorated with old style, redesigned “retro” and contemporary furniture, unique artworks as paintings, sculptures and photos by international artists, and art handicraft creations
You’ll enter a spacious living with view on the Clocktower of the Church  and the Fortress. Danny Shain’s paintings on the walls, art glasses on the shelfs.
Next is the kitchenette in the  50’s style, but fully equipped and the first bathroom.

two separated night areas

Mary's Tower

Form the living you access to  two separated night areas.

The first one is the Blue Room, a  redesigned ‘40s style bedroom.
Pictures by Andrea Baldeck’s, Mauro Eraldo’s paintings and  Maria’s embroideries on the walls.

The second one is what I call the "Yellow Suite”: 40 sqm.
A nice arch separates a cosy romantic  sleeping space and a wide studio-sitting room with sofa, library and desk.
Here you can see remains of the hold frescoes decorations. And Fornasetti’s graphic:)
But what will take your heart will be the incredible view from all the windows: especially from the "suite studio": breathtaking, from the hill to the plain and the sea. You feel like an hawk enjoying the sight from the sky.

Il Fondo

this “house on the rocks”

Rock is everywhere in this charming flat. After a passionate restoration, with a philological search of original materials it came back to its real essence: historical materials meet pieces of Nature.

Spurs of rock enter the bathroom and the sitting rooms melting into glass tiles and medieval bricks of the floor The studio, at the ground floor of the 13th century house, is a 50sqm openspace that stays just behind the principal Church of the village.

Stone, bricks, wooden beams. Nicely decorated with a cocktail of antiques and design accessories.

Spaces are visually separated by olives’ crop ladders, marked with the initials of the old family Cinughi de Pazzi, Lords of the territory for centuries.

Outside a tiny wooden platform where you can enjoy a romantic coffee or aperitif for two, bistrot style.
